If you’ve been reading through any of these, I’m sure you’ll notice a theme: lots of cool cars and maximum protection packages. Rightfully so, that’s always the -best- option. However, it’s not often the most budget friendly, and can frequently be overkill if you’re not looking to keep a vehicle indefinitely.
I present to you, a very orange Toyota Tundra, with an expected use life of only about two years. For background, our client here is a truck guy. The last few years of vehicle availability have made for delays, low inventory, and delivery problems. If I recall, he’s actually after a Ford Raptor R (and has an order in), but isn’t expecting to see it for 2 years. So he grabbed this limited color Tundra until then. Having already had paint protection film on prior vehicles, we opted to save some cash and do a minimal coverage plan. Here we used STEK DYNOshield in clear to protect the entire front bumper. Trucks these days have such blunt front ends that often the bumpers will take a majority of the rock chips, impacts, and bug damages. This is another great case of why we use STEK - the extreme optical clarity is well above the competition, and makes no visible change to the wild Solar Orange paint.
We layered up GYEON’s CanCoat Pro Evo for a simple one-year expected lifespan. If the client still has the truck the following year, we’ll likely re-apply and extend the coverage. We also tinted the front two windows (to match the factory rear window dye) with SolarGard Solstice, which gained 99.9% UV protection. Out the door for less than 2% of the vehicle cost.
